Scope of our Involvement

The choice is yours. Rather than ask you to plough through lots of website information, we are happy to have an initial nil-charge conversation so that we can discuss your outline thoughts regarding an Appeal. Following this, we will suggest some options which offer various levels of our involvement, to suit your need and budget.

We are very flexible and approachable and will work with you to supply our very best advice and personal attention.

The paragraphs in the next section explain how the various Levels of Service work. There is significant time and work involved at Level 3 and above. A Case can typically cover 30 sides of typed A4 paper and involve many hours in order to cover all aspects of the school's position and that of the parents.

Appeal My Place advertises as being available 7 days a week and parents who work appreciate this. Calls, emails and discussions can take place with parents in the evenings which also significantly helps busy parents.

Supporting your Appeal

Every step of the way determined by you

Levels of Support

Below are some ideas and costs for how our levels of involvement could take shape for an Appeal. We can discuss these in more detail during our initial nil-cost phone call, to help you decide which is the best way forward.

Level 1 is available to parents who intend to write the Appeal and present the case themselves with no further interaction with Appeal My Place after initial research and guidance.

Level 2 is available to parents who wish to write the case themselves, but want to have it read through and analysed by me so that it can be further enhanced.

Level 3 is a significant step above Levels 1 and 2. This involves me writing the whole case, undertaking appropriate research and contacting schools and Local Education Authorities as required. The final case is given to parents for them to submit to the panel.

Level 4 adds to the Case preparation in Level 3 and involves a coaching session with parents about the panel experience. Likely questions and answers are considered so that parents can feel confident about attending the panel hearing.

Level 5 incorporates all of the Case preparation and panel preparation from Levels 3 and 4, but at this level I also attend the panel hearing to help present the case to the panel.

Level 5

All Case preparation described in Level 3 and Parent preparation described in Level 4.

Most Appeals are now held virtually and so the fee for attending is noted below.

Where Hearings are held in person, the location and the timing needs to be considered and so it is not possible to provide a generic price for this Level of Service in advance of accepting an Appeal Case. Shortly after a Case commences, in-person Appeals can be quoted for once the panel publishes whether the hearing is virtual or in-person.

Where the Appeal is virtual, the fee for attendance in addition to the Level 4 fee is £250

Level 3

Following our initial free telephone call I will research your case.

I will contact schools and the Local Education Authority where required and will write the whole Case for parents. This will be structured to look carefully at the relative prejudice of adding one more pupil to a school roll. I will critically analyse the school's position in declaring that it is full with appropriate statistical comparisons. I will then present the parents' case, calling upon each and every factor associated with your individual child needing a place at that school and will plan to show that they will suffer prejudice by not being allowed to attend which will be greater than the prejudice to the school by accepting them.

I will help you ensure that your carefully prepared written Case is submitted to the Panel by the deadline they set.

I will be available to you 7 days a week. £1950
