Small but important steps
Each and every stage of education is important to a child’s education. But the first steps can be crucial ones. They may feel like small steps at this very early stage of learning, but they can be the best steps that your child may take in life. It is now that they will learn to learn, that they will meet new children and make friends and that they will be most excited about their schooling.
If you find that you haven’t been offered a place in the school of your choice, I can help you with an Appeal. Each Appeal that I prepare is unique to you and your child and I spend time to understand every aspect of your case. We will work closely together with you on your Appeal, with the information you provide, information I source from your preferred school and information I obtain from other sources.
I shall use all of this to develop a case to present to the Appeal Panel as to why your child should be awarded a place at the Primary School of your choice.
Infant Schools for children aged 4+ have a limit to class sizes set by the Government and so an Appeal is not usually possible unless there has been maladministration.
Junior Schools, admitting children at 7+, do not have these legal limits, although they will have an Admission Policy which they will follow.
Primary Schools may be comprised of an Infant School and a Junior School, or might solely start at age 7+. Those schools who have an Infant section usually allow children to progress into the Junior section 'by right'. The Junior Section starts at age 7+ and may take extra children from outside the school in addition to those who attended the Infant section. Many Primary Schools only commence at age 7+.
You may wish to appeal for a place in a Primary School which commences with pupils at 7+ or for the Junior Section of a Primary School which takes extra pupils from outside.
