Secondary School Admissions

Age 11-16

Whether your first choice is a Grammar School, a Comprehensive School, a Faith School or a Single Gender School, you will have chosen the school for your child to attend in September for good reasons.

To receive a rejection hurts and for many parents the prospect of an excellent education for their child in secondary school will appear to slip away.

Our country's secondary schools have now polarised more than ever. One good or excellent school in an area can stand as a beacon when compared to its neighbouring schools, and you may be deeply unhappy with the school which has been offered to your child.

Making an emotional Appeal is straight forward. However, writing an Appeal which presents a strong case, backed by evidence, to convince a Panel that your child should be admitted when the school states it is full is much more challenging. This is the service Appeal My Place provides.

I will help you to present the strongest Appeal for a place and will guide and advise you each and every step of the way.

of Secondary school applicants are not offered their first choice of school (2023)

Each Appeal that I prepare is unique to you and your child. I spend significant time liaising with you to understand every aspect of your case and then I undertake substantial research into the school you wish your child to attend. I'll make calls on your behalf to speak, as appropriate, with the school and with the Local Education Authority. We will work closely together on your Appeal, and so you will see how it develops into a cogent Case Statement, ready to present to an Appeals Panel.

Every parent has the right to appeal. Sometimes you may not have grounds, and in these circumstances I will tell you. I shall also inform you about how strong I consider your case to be, but whilst we can present excellent arguments to a Panel, it is never possible to predict whether or not they will decide to uphold the Appeal.

Ultimately, it is your decision, but no doubt you will be painfully aware that secondary education is the most important step in your child's educational journey. It is the one that will provide them with a suite of GCSEs, A-Levels or IB and the best preparation for their future successful career.

Parent Testimonial

Edwin's input was extraordinary...

We would highly recommend Edwin's services."

Mr A. C. (Trafford)

"

"Not getting a choice of school can be very stressful for both child and parents, you certainly would need professional help if you decide to appeal. Thankfully we came across Edwin Klein. With Edwin's help and guidance we were able to manage the whole appeal process for one of the top Grammar schools in Manchester.

We chose to go ahead with Edwin due to his honest initial consultation, professional attitude and plenty of experience.

Edwin's input during the process was extraordinary, he was very approachable, always available to contact and the communication was even after normal working hours. We would highly recommend Edwin's services if you are deciding to appeal, he will make the whole process extremely simple with his invaluable input."
